You Think You’re Fat? You’re Only Bloated!

Bloating is a digestive problem which is usually caused by excess buildup of gasses in the stomach. It’s rarely a sign of anything serious, although it can indicate different types of digestive cancers in some cases.

You’ve probably experienced bloating at least once and know how it feels. Your stomach can become the size of a small ball, and it’s often accompanied by discomfort or pain. Here are some of the main causes of bloating:

Insufficient water intake

If you’re not drinking enough water and drink too much alcohol or coffee, you will experience bloating. When there’s not enough water in the body, it will start using the liquids saved in the tissues, resulting in water retention and bloating as well.

Not enough fiber

Fiber is absolutely essential for our digestion, and by not consuming it frequently, you will experience constipation and bloating as well. Like with all other nutrients, too much fiber is also too much, so make sure to consume it in limited amounts.

Stress

Stress is one of the overlooked causes of bloating and other digestive problems. When the body is under a lot of stress, it will prevent the proper functioning of the digestive system, resulting in the appearance of bloating.

Not chewing food properly

Chewing too fast and swallowing your food in big chunks can make you swallow a lot of air too, which can cause bloating.

Too much carbohydrates

Consuming a high amount of carbs every day is also a cause of bloating. Eat low-carb foods and stop consuming too much alcohol and sugar in order to keep your digestive system in check.
